I had repeated dreams of a witchy woman when I was a little girl.
She was the same witchy woman every time.
She was a force.
She was old.
She was alot.
But I wasn’t scared.
In fact, I conjured her up in my dreams over and over and over.
Why’d my little-girl-mind dream of this character?
The imagery of this witch did not come from movies I had watched as a kid, because witch-movies didn’t get watched in my house.
It didn’t come from a witchy book, because those weren’t allowed.
The witch of my dreams didn’t look like typical witch characters anyway.
As an adult,
I’ve decided that this was my subconscious mind
using imagery to speak wisdom to me,
a young girl who had a knack for trusting her instinct.
Well, until I didn’t trust my knack for trusting my instinct.
I digress.
__________
The old, witch crone is a powerful archetype representing deep, intuitive wisdom.
Listen, as I tell you how I see and feel and communicate with
this old witch crone that lives inside of me,
because I’m convinced that you have
your own inside of you.
________________
Do you think about your intuition?
Does it make you feel curious to envision it?
Do you ever try to summon it?
I do.
Let me assure you- If you call her, she will come.
She’s a woman of her word.
Trustworthy, above all else.
The old crone understands the importance of timing, though.
She knows when to act and when to wait.
You will not rush her.
Have patience.
Have patience with your intuition, with yourself, with the crone.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
Every time.
_________
The old crone observes everything your soul experiences.
She’s your witness.
__________
Allow me to really open up here for a moment.
At the age of 40, about 3 years into my self-discovery journey,
I still struggle with embodying my ‘self.’
I struggle to give human form to the energy I feel, sense, and perceive.
There is still a disconnect between the Angel I see and the Angel I sense.
So, the old crone (as well as Sage, the octopus, on my Meditation Album )
is a ‘character’ that gives me a way to see myself living, breathing,
moving, and in tangible form.
As I cultivate my relationship with her,
she becomes my witness consciousness.
Because of her, I can observe my thoughts and emotions with a more healthy detachment and clarity.
I am able to manifest a deeper relationship with myself using this vivid imagery, than without it.
She gives me access to my subconscious mind
far outside of my conscious awareness.
And she thrives in chaos.
She sees patterns where I only see randomness and confusion.
It’s from this chaos that my epiphanies arrive.
I am so grateful for the vivid imagery that I intuitively give myself for deeper understanding.
It’s worth being open to the fact that
maybe powerful, intense imagery comes to you, too.
Or maybe meaningful signs come to you in nature
(like insects crawling on you, things found in your walking path, a fixation on the distant bird in a tree).
Ot maybe your physical body is used
for communicating to you,
through cravings or repulsions,
urges or pangs.
Maybe not.
Maybe all of these.
Maybe it’s numbers.
Maybe colors.
Do not ignore things that you cannot explain.
In fact, ponder the things you cannot explain.
It might be that the crone in you knows best how to teach you.
Her wisdom- it’s unlike your mind’s conscious processing.
She doesn’t discern using logic or reasoning.
It’s much deeper than that.
Her wisdom is a vast, interconnected and intricate web…
a web of insight and experience that resonates
at the deepest level of you.
A web of insight that you can trust.
One that you can put to the test, and learn to place your confidence in.
She is turning the soil of your subconscious mind day and night.
She’s weaving.
She works tirelessly, weaving patterns into your unconscious mind.
She’s silently weaving together threads.
The crone weaves the threads of emotion
and experience and thoughts into a tapestry.
When the pattern is complete,
the epiphany is revealed to you-
those sudden flashes of understanding.
The epiphanies aren’t predictable-
they arrive when the crone deems them ready for you.
No more, no less.
_______________
Go into your inner world.
Open up to yourself.
Because inside of you, there’s the spirit of a wise, old crone.
She is deeper than blood or bone.
She is not separate from you; she is a part of you.
She is you.
And you are the crone.
Lead yourself.
And follow yourself.
Day and night, she weaves the threads of you.
She is the alchemist,
transforming pain into wisdom,
fear into courage.
Because of her,
you can grow and understand,
from the inside out.
Let her tend to you.
You are safe with her.
She loves only you.
She is the architect of your inner world.
And she is your witness.
Till next Saturday,
Angel
